ARKAEOS is a private art advisory with a strong focus on Antiquities and Post War and Contemporary Art. With over 7 years of experience in the international art scene, Noach Vander Beken consults and curates the collections of a select group of collectors. By using a personalized approach, clients are guided and advised in the most discrete manner through dedicated research.
In 2011, Noach joined Axel Vervoordt’s team, which allowed him to analyze all aspects of the international art market spanning from the antiquities, 20th century contemporary design, and Post War and Contemporary Art. During his time there he built uniquely valuable and coherent collections for a very broad international clientele. As a senior specialist in Archeology, Noach not only consulted and curated the collections of his clients but also played a major role in sourcing antiquities and generating profound research for important acquisitions and sales.
At Axel Vervoordt, Noach co-curated booths at numerous international art fairs (TEFAF, Maastricht & NY; Salon Design, NY; Armory, NY; Frieze & Frieze Masters; Masterpiece; BRAFA; among others), assisted in the exhibitions at the Palazzo Fortuny during the Venice Biennale — Tàpies. Lo Sguardo dell’artista (2013), Proportio (2015) and most recently Intuition (2017) — and worked on exhibitions at Axel Vervoordt Gallery, including Renato Nicolodi, Jaromír Novotný, Chung Chang-Sup, Yun Hyong-Keun, Tsuyoshi Maekawa, Kazuo Shiraga, Yuko Nasaka, Ryuji Tanaka, Gunter Uecker and Jef Verheyen. Through the process of developing these projects his expertise grew in the field of Post War and Contemporary Art (ZERO, Gutai, Dansaekwa) and 20th century contemporary design.
Noach Vander Beken holds a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Heidelberg (Germany) which immediately followed by a BAEF grant for archaeological research at Brown University. He also holds a Masters degree in Art History and Archaeology at the University of Leuven (Belgium).
